after 101 months of saying i want to go laksa king to try their laksa, now i'm finally making my way to flemington to try. it's not very far from the city, not near either. about 15 minutes by train. like what i've said previously, i wanted to make use of the free public transport day so i went to flemington. coincidently, it was laksa king's opening day. they moved to the other side. larger shop i assume? anyway that is not the main point. the queue was so friggin long, that we waited for an hour. one hour for a table for three. madness! if i know i were to wait for that long i wouldn't even go there. so food... you better be good.

so i ordered the entree. papaya salad, loh bak, popiah and currypuff. i never know that papaya salad is malaysian food, either that or it's just me. loh bak is not very good. the taste is just.. too far from what a loh bak is supposed to be. popiah was alright, so is the currypuff... but jerine's ikea currypuff is still the best! :D

the vegetarian curry noodle. errrr... too much of santan coconut milk lar. feels as though i'm drinking santan and not the curry. so it's not as good as expected..

asam laksa, my favourite. ok lar... not bad. the soup was alright, correct combination of ingredients.. but hellooooo the look is not the most important. it's not even the asam laksa lai fun to begin with. salah noodle!

the colour of the noodle differs from the normal laksa noodle. not quite obvious from pictures... more obvious in real. the old town kopitiam at little bourke serves better laksa actually. personal preference..

i'm assuming that it was their first day plus too many people coming in so the quality of their food wasn't as good as expected. i should go one more time, during the day to avoid the traffic. one more try and if it's not THAT good, might as well i go to the restaurants in the city which serves better quality of food rather than wasting my time travelling. did i not mention, it took them 30 minutes to serve what we ordered. what a waste of my time waiting. *shakes head*

yesterday it was the free public transport day. free tram, train, bus. free things will attract kiasu people. says who only the asians are kiasu, the angmohs are kiasu also okie! feels like a sardine fish in the tram. actually it doesn't affect me for the fact that i punch my tram ticket 90% of the time. it's just that i feel i should fully utilize the free tram as much as i can! LOL! i even thought of going to chadstone or boxhill. but i ended up going to flemington for dinner.

anyways, i was late for 30 minutes cause i went for lunch. horrible lunch at pacific bbq, refer to my previous post. so we waited for sharm outside myers at bourke street. while going through the presents jerine gave shikin, there was something that we can't tell what's that. i'm guessing that it should be worn like that. macam doraemon's buluh terbang!!

after meddling with the stuff for a bit, we headed to Supre, my favourite shop. there are a lot of Mall World lookalike clothes in there. maybe that's why i love Supre and Mall World. one is my virtual fashion house and the other is the reality shop. love it to the max! so anyway i forgo two black tops for my purple floral dress! it was the only last piece left, the only piece that i can fit into. i guess i can't wait till sales - LAST PIECE OMG! so that is why i have to let go the second best for the BEST! i also bought another purple dress (shikin bought the same dress for jerine. HOT PINK!) and a cream top to match my skirt. maybe i'll go back and get the black one to match the orange skirt i bought from singapore. Supre itself took more than an hour of our time, omg!

after that sharm, shikin and i walked from bourke street to degraves street. their alleys are very nice, i mean, the artwork on the wall. in malaysia, it's called vandalism..

no i am certainly not approving the quality of this roast duck rice. first of all the duck doesn't taste like it's made today. skin not crispy, more like steamed duck rather than roast. sounds like yesterday's roasted duck and steam it again for today's customers. then it's the rice that's way too soft. too much water? hello i didn't order porridge.

the cheese baked spaghetti with chicken and mushroom. average.

apart from that, their service suck big time. their attitude is bad, so bad that they can't even take order without showing off their black faces. in order to call them you need to raise your hand for the next five minutes because they see you and ignore you still. the only good thing about that place is the size of the drink. quite big cup compared to other cafes. i won't go back again, waste my money. i mind, paying for horrible food and lousy service. the least they could do to hide the truth about their food is to put on a smile.

signed a new plan under optus for my whiteberry bold 9700! now i can tweet, bbm, fb, foursquare wherever i want! sounds like a real-time-mole, eh? oh top of that, my iphone's actually working now.. after 6 months of hibernating. :)

figured that we should pay a visit to the top floor of the tower, all of us woke up early just for it. only guests are allowed to use the pool so we took the opportunity to go up. we had about an hour to explore the entire place - no time to swim. wasted... maybe next time? that's if i ever get go there again..
