tesselaar tulip festival

last year, i missed the festival. as in, i cannot wake up for it. so this time i forced myself to wake up~ which is a good thing because i definitely won't be able to make it for the next 3 days. (assignment!). i paid about $15 to enter. remember to bring your student ID!

overview of the farm.

the flowers are slowly dying.. :S

bimbo wore heels to farm. muddy after that FML.

never mind about the heels. but please don't wear heels if you're about to go.

maureen!

we stopped by at tulip cafe for lunch. chicken schnitzel served with mashies and veggie.

their so-called special fries. with loads of sauce and raw onion. not satisfying lunch indeed.

i have a very strong urge to pluck it but of course we're not allowed to. it's for sale at the entrance of the farm. then again, i'm not a fan of flowers. no point spending on something that will die off and goes into the bin right? i'd rather have the money spent on desserts so i can swallow them.

i love this picture for some reason. :D

that's about it! i have close to about 300 shots but i'm only posting a few here. i shall post the rest on facebook. ^^

we paid about $10.60 for today's tram ticket - daily zone 1 and 2. since we will pass by boxhill, why not just stop by and have a quick dinner before heading back to the city. tengliang recommended a taiwanese restaurant. it's called the booth taiwanese gourmet.

minced pork rice with egg - $5.80. quite cheap for this portion, almost impossible to get it in the city.

i know i'm so greedy. i ordered TWO cups. one with pearls and one without. green milk tea and sour plum.

fried chicken

the booth's special noodle. it came with chicken boxing O_O!

the food is much cheaper over here. maybe i should make my way to boxhill during the weekends for cheaper meals if i ever go out. :O oh and by the way, this little booth beats the ten ren in the city. ten ren is more expensive and not as good as little booth. did i not mention i even saw a cockroach before. (the first cockroach i've ever seen in melbourne after staying here for close to 2 years)

ok that's all folks!! to all you people studying in melbourne, if you have never been to this place, please go at least once in your lifetime. the flowers do look good in pictures, but they look even better in real! sunday is the last day of the festival. go go gooooooooooooo!!!!!!

one day trip to phillip island

mm. i was quite surprised that the previous post attracted fish seafood grill. i've posted many food entries and none of them captured the actual restaurants to respond, but this one did. :P next time i'll go and try their platter. i saw someone else ordering it and it looks good~

* * * * * * * * * *

the malaysians from monash uni organized a one day trip to phillip island. well, i'm not a monash student... -_- just somehow, being somebody who tags along just to see penguins. :P three places to go, chocolate factory, a maze' n things and the penguin parade.

as usual, malaysians being malaysians, somehow the entire trip was delayed for about 30 minutes? tsk tsk..

so our first destination is the chocolate factory.

macho chocolate statue? O_O

that picture is made out of thousands of tiny chocolates!

chocolate town..

yes that was the first impression. =X

i wonder when do they need to change the chocolate. sekali the ants eat all then habislah. hahahaa.

chocolate heaven!

the machines look really dirty... i wonder how often do they clean it..

cute chocolates~

they are already preparing chocolates for mothers day..

edible heels~ i want!!

squirt your own chocolate..

go through the cooling process..

taadahhh! my creation. =)

notice that yet?

"free" subway for lunch. i think it's quite sad, it's just plain subway. if only we can pick our own. the combination was terrible. :(

hanging around the playing ground outside a maze n' things

apparently it's australia's largest maze. hmmmm!

we wanted to go to the place with red flag, just to take pictures. but we ended up at this blue flag instead.

after going round and round, we finally reach the red flag spot. picture taken by tengliang.

bie and tengliang

trying to get out of the maze.. so HOT!!

another spot to take picture. actually i don't get what's the purpose of this maze, what am i looking for. x_x??

after walking under the hot sun, we went to the indoor area. first it was the no gravity crap room. that room made me feel like puking, so i didn't stay in for long.

recognize this mirror? yup, the few mirrors i saw at london, ripley's believe it or not.

the mirror maze, exactly same with the one at ripley's -_- but this one is obviously not as good. they don't provide disposable gloves. also, they didn't dim the lights so i can practically see the entire mirror in front of me. not syok lor. maybe i should've gone to this one first before going to ripley's. -_-

while waiting, we played chess. i have to admit that he's better than me in chess. but at the end of the day i still win!!! HAHAHAHA!! checkmate!

according to the schedule, we will be having dinner at 4pm. so early!!! -_-

we are free to roam around cowes esplanade~

spotted some pretty flowers..~

bie brought me to this place to eat fish and chips.

14 aud for the seafood basket. combination of fish (of the day), scallop, seafood stick, prawn, calamari and potato chips. the set comes with a tartar sauce.
it's so cheap that they don't even provide cutleries. omg almost burn my fingers can. nvm, at least it's cheap!

after lunch we walked around that area for a bit. nothing extraordinary actually, just a few shops selling clothes, swimsuits, bakeries, restaurants.

there was some bazaar going on by the beach. so many things to eat, dutch pancakes, grilled food, cakes etc. i bought a jar of strawberry jam - handmade! initially i thought of buying blueberry jam but they don't have it anymore. sobs. ;(

pig arse spotted at the bazaar!! who wants to buy a pig arse right. -_-"

grass. beach. sea. boots. peace.

ahh should've focus on penny behind XD

the cute dog fetched his tennis ball and came right next to me!! so cute la, reminds me of jun's tofu, but brown in colour. so cute!!!

taking shadow pictures.

yes i want to stay here!! at least two days. :)

we started to camp at the beach around 7 for the penguin parade. we waited for almost an hour for the penguins to come out... :(

actually, no photos allowed, even without flash also cannot. looks like they wanna earn more bucks -.-?? i don't know but, i feel without flash from far can't even hurt them, so don't get what's the point. cincai take a picture, extremely blur, can't see anything and left. i was quite desperate for toilet after freezing for an hour just to see the penguins.

i wanna go back again some day. the penguins came out around 8pm and we had to meet up at 8.15pm. so, quite potong because the penguins just started to walk out.. :( i haven't had enough of the penguins yet!!! damn.
