day 6 in melbourne

i called uncle william when i arrived at klia, just to inform him that i got the keys. also, to thank him for the extra pocket money. i called uncle kelvin as well, just to let him know that i'm gonna leave in a bit, and he told me that he's gonna spend me a meal when i'm there. i thought it was a joke (since he's not going) and i forgot about it soon enough. when suzzen reached, she told me that we can have something good for dinner, and uncle kelvin's gonna spend us. she used his (uncle kelvin's) credit card and spent us korean food! hahahahaa. thank you sooo much uncle kelvin! pictures at theee korean restaurant.

hmm.. what to eat...?

susu and shirley... smile! =D

john and i

since i'm gonna be here for a month, i'll have to save as much as i can on food, or else i won't have money to buy stuff. and it is not cheap. the cheapest thing to eat is instant mee goreng, which costs 25 cents if you buy from safeway. but no way in hell i'm gonna eat that everyday. i bought a few packets though. i find the supermarket here is sooooo funny weh. the have different promotions every week. last week i bought 3 cans of campbell soup for 3 dollars. which is 1 dollar for a can. so cheap! and this week it's back to it's original price, which is 1 point something.. almost 2 dollars for a can if i am not mistaken. the virginian ham that i bought last week at safeway costs 12.99 dollars per kg, and now it's more than 14 dollars per kg. goshh. another way to save money is to buy cheap food before the shop closes. like the sushi shop at QV. just before the shop closes, they'll sell everything off at a lower price, 1 packet - 4 rolls, originally at almost 8 dollars per packet, reduced to 5 dollars a packet. and 8 dollars for 2 packets. 1 packet is enough for you to eat until you vomit. by almost 8pm, the roasted chicken which is almost 10 dollars, will go down to about 6 dollars. and i am talking about ONE WHOLE ROASTED CHICKEN. i can divide it to about 2 meals i think. man. i need more cheap food to help me survive in melbourne! LOL. bleh, i'm just trying to get used to things before i come over! need to know more ways to get cheap food! suggestions please!

as for cheap chinese food, nam loong at russell street is cheap. about 8 dollars for a dish. i ordered chicken with teriyaki sauce. comes with rice. i swear the portion is HUGE (good for you nigel... mountain!) and i can divide it into two portions. crazy amount of rice weh. almost 3 times of what i eat at home. zzzz. pictures at nam loong!

john!

me!

susu can't stop staring at things. she kept telling me how good the bao is. so peoplesss! if you feel like eating bao, just get it from nam loong.

see. still staring =_="

okie dokie.. finally! thanks for the tea =)..

on the way home... on yarra tram~

suzzen and shirley..

it's not a very good idea to convert aussie dollars to ringgit every time i buy food. i'll probably end up eating mee goreng everything - 0.25 multiply by 3 = 0.75. approximately 75 cents a meal.

suzzen bought a whole lot of instant mee gorengs. approximately... 30 packets or more? two plastic bags of instant mee gorengs. can eat until she puke. kononnyer supply for a few months. bleksz. we were watching some reality show on aussie tv, about this couple who got caught for smuggling jewelry into melbourne if i am not mistaken. they tried to get away without paying the whatever tax at the airport. so they did not declare. and so i was wondering what will happen if chongsusu gets caught for smuggling instant mee gorengs into tasmania. it will be SO funny to see her on tv =D.... john bought chinese cabbage from the asian grocery yesterday. it costs 4.50 aussie dollars per kg. the one john bought costs 5.40 aussie dollars. FIVE DOLLARS AND FOURTY CENTS FOR ONE STUPID CHINESE CABBAGE. WTF. 5.40 X 3 = 16.2. RM16.20 can buy how many edi wehhhh!! shit i'm being so calculative when it comes to aud -> ringgit. expensive lesson weh. no more buying expensive veggie. just get the 0.98 cents lettuce from safeway. seriously you'll feel happier to eat that rather than the 5.40 chinese cabbage. feels so sad to eat that golden chinese cabbage. EXPENSIVE LESSON!!!

made this mee goreng with a microwave. fantastic, right? approximately 35-40 cents for this meal. noodle plus veggie plus ham. =)

speaking of mobile phones, john finally got himself a sony ericsson w910i! and he's using 3. expensive for me to call him since i'm using optus =(. there's an obvious difference - at the bottom of my phone, there is a printed sony ericsson's walkman logo and word while his phone doesn't have it. instead, he has a number 3 printed on it. the other difference is the phone theme. we have our own unique themes. i'm using eclipse. he is using orbit. =) picture!

brand new w910i!

random : picture taken at royal selangor club before finals. used to have this fluffy thingy hanging on my phone but it came off. i can't seem to hang things on my phone because it'll come off after two weeks or so. =(

you know what. it's worth paying for this cup of hot chocolate at beer deluxe. 3.50 and i can sit here for hours to type a notepad file which is about a megabyte in size.

took a few pictures by yarra river last night. omigosh i have so many pictures to take from john.. and i can't wait =P..
