Santorini Day 2 Part 1

We stayed in a different hotel until Jerine arrived. It was a rather last minute decision due to flight tickets and clashes in dates. As we were walking towards the other hotel, I couldn't resist taking a picture at the Oia Square.

The shops started to open like at around 11ish? It totally gave me the holiday mood, everything starts late so I did not miss anything! :D

The other side of the island from Oia Square. I wonder which part of island is that hmm!

The church is located at Oia's main square. You can't really miss this area if you're in Oia, it's the main square where it has a huge space to hangout. If you take the bus to Oia, you only need about two minutes walk to Oia main square. It's sort of a landmark where you can meet with friends who stays in different hotels.

So we didn't stay at the private suites that overseas Aegean. I'll probably do that with my other half or something haha. We stayed in Oia Sunset Apartments which is only a minute walk from the bus stop. The cost per night is about €80. Price varies based on season. Currently it's not the season to swim yet... Probably in a month or two when it gets hotter.

Panos and Stavros greeted us when we arrived. They are really nice hosts, like super. They made us feel as if we were going back home. There was this random lady whom I've spoken to... She said she comes back once every year to Santorini just to relax and visit them. Unlike commercialized resorts, they try their best to serve all their customers like friends they've known for long.

There are many shops everywhere in Santorini selling their local products. This shop is located right at Oia's bus stop.

I really have no idea what Capers is... Probably I've eaten them without realizing. There are just so many things I've not exactly seen it before. Maybe just wine. I get sort of excited to see things like that but I won't buy for the obvious reason, I don't know what's that.. Anyway, I think there are more shops in Fira than Oia.

Fira is another town located in Santorini. We took a bus from Oia to Fira which costs only €1.60 for one way. The duration of the journey is about 20 minutes or so. You'll be amazed that that bus is actually one huge bus and yet they can handle the narrow and winding roads! According to a Greek friend, never take a cab in an island! It's a rip-off! :P

That's it for today, I shall move on to Fira in the upcoming post!

Santorini Day 1

We were supposed to be in Santorini at about 1ish pm, but due to the unfortunate delay in flight, we arrived at about 4+. What a waste of time really. Every second in Santorini counts!

Luckily we were just in time for sunset!! We were not too sure of the location for sunset but fret not, the locals are extremely nice! Just ask them they'll definitely lead you to that popular spot.

Meet my old travel buddy, Monica. We went to Abu Dhabi and Dubai a couple of years back, besides the fact that both of us grew older, she has Little Vanessa now (and Viviana! Too young to join us for now)

Be there early if you want a good spot... I noticed there were so many people who prefer to buy their own bottle of wine and just sit by the stairs. It's probably the budget style of enjoying the sunset.

There's this spot right at the tip where I can see so many people but I don't know how to get there. I didn't ask too because I thought our spot was good enough. Besides I really wanted to sit down and grab food and wine.

There are so many stalls like that selling souvenirs. That blue eye thingy reminded me of my pendant I bought from Turkey many, many years ago. I don't really know the history behind but apparently it brings good luck. I have no idea why both Turkey and Greece sells the same thing.

If you don't feel like eating you can just grab a bottle of wine from the supermarket and sit or stand by the stairs.

It took us a while to search for a place.. Most of the restaurants were full.

Little Vanessa handles her stairs really well! Note that it is normal to see stairs like that in Santorini. Don't expect the taxi to send you to your doorstep.. It's not possible. Unless if you're intending to hire a donkey or something. That's how they transport goods in Santorini.

 The view from the restaurant.

Click here for the food review.

It got a little bit cold, probably not the best season to go. It's not really the season where you can swim.

The church area in Oia. It's in the center of the long walk you cannot miss it.

There's just one long street in the Oia area. It gets really difficult to find the hotel if you don't know where exactly it is.

I love every single picture I've taken back in Santorini. Feels like I'm in heaven or something. (or better!)

The little bookshop that looks like I'm in some fairytale!

Randomly bought a local Santorini wine. It was relatively sweet. No, actually it tasted like grape juice!!

It was only our first day and I have like so many photos already. The best thing is? I won't ever get tired of taking photos in Santorini! The Aegean Sea is too damn beautiful!! I've got too much to blog about but I'm skipping everything because I love Santorini more than any other places I've been to right now. :)

Hong Kong Part 6

Despite the many visits to HK, I've never exactly done touristy things. So far my visit is only to eat, shop and go for a cruise.

My favourite Lam Fung is Patricia and not Raymond???? WHYYYYYY... I have no idea who's Patricia... Just took it for the sake of Lam Fung!

This place is the Avenue of Stars.. You'll get like the pretty view of HK and the little stars on the floor. It kind of reminds me of Hollywood... Except this is the HK version.

Jackie Chan's palm is damn huge!

Trying to be the female version of Bruce Lee. Ki siao!

The view looks much better in reality, but a little foggy from the pictures. No idea why...

I will never be a director...

Hahahaha the pig is so damn cute!! So cute I have to dig the nose!

Finally, a picture of us! It's so difficult to take photos together because we don't have a tripod...

I have no idea where this place is, but I think I've seen it in TVB! Hahah. So nice!

These dried stuff are very cheap in HK. I bought dried scallops back to Malaysia, really cheap. The guy in the background is so cute. Have to pose haha! They gave us a small discount, so nice of them! The shop is located somewhere in Yau Ma Tei if I remember correctly...

Off for some curry fish balls!!! It's like the HK trademark, a must eat if you're there!!

It's not cheap ok... Food in HK is considered quite expensive! If I remember corrected it costs about 8-10 HKD for a stick!

They have other stuff as well but I didn't try..

That's because I had like 4-5 sticks of curry fishballs!!! Too awesome

I got so upset when one of the balls fell off from the stick! :(

The balls were so damn spicy I had to get a drink..

We ended up in this dessert shop which serves awesome mango dessert!

Just to find out that the shop is actaully Hui Lau Shan!!!! So I've been to Hui Lau Shan even before they opened branches in Malaysia. Such coincidence.

I've figured that I should get MORE after dessert!! Which I did... Cannot get enough of it!

Because the balls are so damn spicy I got myself free "Lipstick"!

Before we headed back to Disneyland Hotel, we stopped by the last shop for quick snack. I really have no idea what this is.. It's like radish cake on the outer layer and fish cake insde. These were pan fried if I'm not wrong which made the upper layer slightly crispy. Oh dear HK is the best place for snacks really!!!

That is it for 3 days in HK! I wish I can go back again someday :) I still haven't get to go to the bars in Lan Kwai Fong! Jerine ... we should go again!!! Gosh there are too many places to go ^_^

Hong Kong Part 5

The last day in HK!

We only had a grace period of 3 days so we had to spend our time wisely! Like camwhoring in the pretty Disneyland themed hotel :O

That famous Hollywood sign... in HK. So J's hair grew so much longer already... This is how behind time I am :(

Those super old school cars. I wonder if it's drivable... Probably not.

It was supposed to be the "Welcome to my Hotel" pose but it looked more like some kind of goodbye greeting

And J? Instead of welcoming people it seems she's doing "I'm the boss.... Now.. Bow!"

Oh those precious times. That's it for Disney! I need to get out of the place for more of the real side of HK!!! We then headed down town just to grab curry fishballs!!!! :D:D
